Preschool Ministry

The Montrose Zion Christian Preschool was started in 2007 by a group of passionate congregation members who had a vision for providing a quality education for young children that also emphasized our faith.

Mission Statement

We believe that every child is created and loved by God and is, therefore, of great significance to the Church. Montrose Zion Christian Preschool’s mission is to nurture the spiritual, physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of the children and their families in our congregation and in our community in a happy, healthy, safe, and loving Christian environment.

Immunization Policy

We do not accept children who are not immunized for any reason other than the immunization is medically contraindicated or not medically appropriate for the child’s age. Children whose parents have declined immunizations will not be accepted.

What’s Happening In Preschool:

This Week (week of April 14): Its all about Easter this week with the children participating in centers and craft activities focused on our upcoming Easter Holiday. Our staff, the children and their parents will be traveling to Copley Place Senior Living Community on Thursday to have some Easter fun with their residents. Our festivities will include making an Easter Bag craft, playing Easter bingo, Easter Dancing and sharing a snack together. We will end our morning having an egg hunt with over 200 eggs and maybe a surprise visit from Peter Rabbit himself. We are so blessed to have this special Pen Pal relationship with the residents from our local retirement community right up the road.

Next Week (week of April 21): We will continue our learning in April with a very e“X”citing “X” week! X-rays, xylophones and “X” marks the Spot Treasure Hunt will find us very e“X”husted. Our snacks will include X & O cookies, X-Marks the Spot muffins, X-Mas jello and CheX MiX. Our Chapel Lesson with Ms. Sharon on Wednesday will find us At the Empty Tomb learning about the miracle of Easter. Friday we will celebrate Earth Day with some very special friends that the children invited. We will sing some songs, play Bingo, win prizes, eat a fun snack and dance some silly dances together, and raise some money to help sponsor the African Lion at the Akron Zoo. What a blessing it is to have the children invite a family member to their preschool to experience the love they feel everyday.

Our Chapel Lesson this week will find us in Creation Station learning about the Sad day and Happy day of the Easter story. What a blessing it is to share the “Good News” of Jesus’ resurrection with His littlest disciples!

April Mission: We will be collecting money donations this month in Honor of Earth Day. This year we have voted to help sponsor the African lion residing at the Akron Zoo! Last Year we raised $180 for their Humboldt Penguin There is a marked jar in the Gathering Area if you wish to add to our mission.

Registration for the 2024/2025 school year for our “Growing In The Son” Christian Preschool here at Montrose Zion has begun. If you are looking for a preschool for your child or grandchild, please contact Sharon Paige and schedule a tour. Spaces are limited.
