Preschool Ministry

The Montrose Zion Christian Preschool was started in 2007 by a group of passionate congregation members who had a vision for providing a quality education for young children that also emphasized our faith.

Mission Statement

We believe that every child is created and loved by God and is, therefore, of great significance to the Church. Montrose Zion Christian Preschool’s mission is to nurture the spiritual, physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of the children and their families in our congregation and in our community in a happy, healthy, safe, and loving Christian environment.

Immunization Policy

We do not accept children who are not immunized for any reason other than the immunization is medically contraindicated or not medically appropriate for the child’s age. Children whose parents have declined immunizations will not be accepted.

What’s Happening In Preschool:

Next Week (week of January 11): This week in preschool, the letter “M” will fill our learning centers with magnets, macaroni, marbles, and marshmallows. We will even be graphing tasty M&M’s! Our weekly reader will focus on Dr. Martin Luther King and the important message he shared. Our mission for the month of January is “We Appreciate You” treat bags for our neighborhood mail carriers. During our chapel time on Wednesday, Pastor Bill will talk about the Magi and the role they played in Jesus’ birth. Snacks will include muffins, mini meatballs, minnow crackers, and our favorite, macaroni and cheese!

Next Week (week of January 18): The letter of the week, “N”, will fill our learning centers with fun and excitement! We will be practicing our numbers, counting nine objects, building a nest, making letters out of noodles, and maybe even play a few rounds of “Noises on the Farm” bingo! Our nifty snacks will include nutella, noodles and butter, naan bread and making “N’s” out of pretzel sticks. We will also be completing our mission for the month of January…”We Appreciate You” treat bags for our neighborhood mail carriers!

Our preschool will be closed on Friday, January 16 for an in-service day, and on Monday, January 19th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

We still have openings in our classes if you know of any family that is interested in a morning preschool, with the option of lunch bunch until 1:00 pm.

Registration for the 2025/2026 school year for our “Growing In The Son” Christian Preschool here at Montrose Zion has begun. If you are looking for a preschool for your child or grandchild, please contact Sharon Paige and schedule a tour. Spaces are limited.
