United Methodist Women (UMW)

is an organization of the United Methodist Church that is dedicated to bringing the women of the church together to support one another in fellowship, to grow spiritually, and to work in mission to women, children, and youth, both locally and throughout the world.

Mission Projects

Montrose Zion United Methodist Women support Common Threads Clothes Closet in Barberton and Rahab Ministries in Akron. They are also involved in the church’s Prayer Shawl Ministry as well as the Hat Ministry, which provides knitted and crocheted hats to a variety of area organizations
Update: Now that the weather has turned colder, are you finding coats, boots, sweaters, etc., that no longer fit your family members? Please remember the clients of Common Threads Clothes Closet and consider donating your items. You can place them in the UMW bin in the coat room. If you have bulky items, hang them on the clothes rod with a note marking them for the closet. The closet always needs women’s bras and undies if you find bargains as you are shopping.
